Bobcat Underground Scholars Goals
Recruitment
The initiative focuses on delivering dedicated outreach and workshops for formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals. By collaborating with community colleges, we help prospective scholars navigate the university application pipeline, ensuring they are prepared with the necessary housing and financial resources to succeed upon admission.
Retention
To ensure scholars achieve their degrees and transition smoothly into professional life, the program provides comprehensive academic and personal support. Collaborative campus efforts foster a strong community through peer counseling, financial advising, and career planning tailored to student success.
Advocacy
We partner with campus and external organizations to tackle the logistical and emotional hurdles associated with incarceration. Furthermore, we actively advocate at the state and federal levels to dismantle systemic barriers affecting the scholar community.
